Translated Books of "Science Culture "(The first batch) Published
China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) initiated the project "Science Culture Translations" in August, 2014. It aims to inject more valuable academic resources into science culture construction in China by introducing and translating fine research papers and books in the area of science culture from foreign peers. The project is supported by Investigation and Publicity Department, CAST, and organized and coordinated by CRISP. The selected books are published by Shanghai Jiaotong University Press. The first batch consists of 11 books: The Origins of Modern Science; The Emergence of a Scientific Culture: Science and the Shaping of Modernity 1210-1685;Scientific Culture and the Making of the Industrial West; The Jewel House: Elizabethan London and the Scientific Revolution; Curiosity: How Science Became Interested in Everything; Science, Culture, and Modern State Formation; Science, Culture and Society: Understanding Science in the 21st Century (2nd edition);Industrial Enlightenment: Science, technology and culture in Birmingham and the West Midlands 1760-1820;The Enlightenment: And Why It Still Matters; Law in the Laboratory: A Guide to the Ethics of Federally Funded Science Research; How Experiments End.
